Google AI Preview
AI Preview (https://www.google.com/) summarizes a response to a search query as a summary displayed at the top of the results, before regular links.
Generated via Gemini from several web sources, it is automatically displayed when Google deems that a summary is relevant, especially on informational queries. The summary is accompanied by links to the sites used as sources.
Google’s AI Mode is offered to go further via a chatbot-style conversational search, still based on Gemini.
Available in the United States and then in many countries since May 2024, AI Preview has been gradually rolled out in France since July 22, 2026, after a prolonged disagreement with press publishers over neighboring rights. Full coverage of requests announced for the end of September 2026.
Note: possibility to hide the AI Preview by selecting the “Web” tab of the classic search results. Site publishers can also request via “Search Console” not to be used as a source, with no announced impact on their classic referencing.
Feature integrated for free in the Google search engine, without an account and unlimited.
