Apertus (download: https://huggingface.co/swiss-ai and free and unlimited test space on Public AI Inference Utility: https://chat.publicai.co/ ) is a fully open-source Swiss language model developed by the “Swiss AI initiative” (EPFL Lausanne, ETH Zurich and Swiss Scientific Computing Center).

Trained on publicly available data, 40% of which are non-English-speaking, it is available in two sizes, 8B and 70B.
