Lumo 2.0 (https://lumo.proton.me/) is the new version of Lumo, Proton’s chatbot that generates text, analyzes and generates images, performs a sourced web search, and maintains a user-controlled memory, all end-to-end encrypted.

Two modes for text generation: Fast for quick answers, Thinking for reasoning for complex tasks.
Based on open models: Qwen 3.5, GLM 5.2, Image-Turbo and FireRed-Image-Edit-1.1.

Main new features:

• Generating images from an instruction, editing an existing image (background change, colors, retouching). No fine text management.
• Memory can be activated in the settings, which retains preferences and context from one conversation to the next.
• “Projects” spaces
• “custom Lumos”, customizable wizards that can be configured for a recurring task.
• Web search with citation of sources.

Can be used for free without an account (4 to 5 interactions) or with a Proton account (limitation announced but no set cap).
