Focus of the letter 10

This focus could have been on generative AI-assisted search and the two dedicated applications this week, TurboSeek and Search by Jina.ai… But more than a focus, it will be a crush on Oracles or Novelists by Arthur Sarazin.

A crush on a rather simple looking application, maybe it’s a bit strong you might say? It’s not the case, as this application ticks important boxes in my opinion:

• First of all, this application is the final illustration of a reflection shared by all: do language models make predictions or simulations?
• it makes reflection tangible and allows us to understand part of how language models work,
• it is open-source with understandable documentation (I understood pieces of code in Python that is to say ;),
• And above all, it allows a fascinating journey through the text: from a text anchored in history, we will gradually insert divergent grains into the next generations, grains that are more or less large depending on the position of the cursors and that are fascinating to be spotted, increased, “gauged”.
