Oracles or Novelists (app: https://oraclesouromanciers.streamlit.app/ and documentation: https://github.com/ArthurSrz/oracles_ou_romanciers) is an app that, according to its author Arthur Sarazin, “generates alternative histories by taking real historical events as a starting point and creating ‘parallel’ variations with slightly different rules.”

Based on the choice of a historical period and the percentages of “divergence” (the anchoring to historical reality that is disrupted by technological, social, political or fantasy divergences), the application generates a text between 100 and 800 words depending on the parameter chosen for a transition from “reality” to fiction.

An analysis of the text is proposed with number of words, occurrences and word cloud.
A history of the current session is available.
