This week on our mountains the sun announced a brilliant awakening and predicted a more beautiful day for the return 🙂 of … For those who have recognized the slight paraphrase, I take this opportunity to greet Swiss readers🇨🇭!

The week’s publications therefore highlighted Swiss productions with two articles: AiAiApps and Euria, two tools made available free of charge and with access without an account.

The first AiAIApps offered by the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne will certainly be of interest to teachers with its three account-free tools, and more broadly to trainers or web creation professions with the “Image to Alt Text” tool.
The second Euria is a chatbot that performs well for certainly 80 to 90% of the classic daily tasks carried out with a generative AI of text, respectful of data and European laws, with a thoughtful environmental approach.

In my opinion, both of them show, if it were still necessary, that other paths are possible for tools with ever more options or displayed performance: we have here two proposals that could already seem obsolete compared to the new features that appear almost every day and which will nevertheless be perfectly suited to carry out tasks that may be simpler but certainly the most common.

Infomaniak’s global approach for Euria is particularly noteworthy, it has been thought out globally, from user data to the “responsible” environmental approach: the use without accounts possible, the non-reuse and deletion of data, compatibility with the GDPR and the Swiss FADP, the use of renewable energy, the reuse of the heat produced by the servers for district heating and the multi-platform proposal.
